Terms of Service

1. Our agreement with you

These Terms of Service govern your use of Yard Sale Map at yardsalemap.com, operated by Tenmile Technologies (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into this agreement to create an account, publish content, or arrange transactions through the service. If you act for a business or organization, you must have authority to bind it and comply with these terms on its behalf.

2. What Yard Sale Map provides

We provide a place to discover and publish items for sale or free, local services and repairs, yard sales, and other permitted local offerings, and to exchange useful questions and updates. We provide the platform; users provide their listings, goods, services, premises, and statements.

We do not act as the seller, buyer, service provider, employer, event organizer, payment processor, escrow provider, or agent in transactions between users. We do not verify that someone attended an event, bought an item, holds a professional license, or performed a service. An email verification or moderation decision is not a background check or endorsement.

3. Your account

Provide accurate account information, use an email address you control, and keep your credentials secure. Do not impersonate another person, share an account to evade restrictions, or create accounts to manipulate discussions. You are responsible for your use of the account and for promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized access at feedback@yardsalemap.com.

Some actions require a verified account email. We may restrict access when needed to investigate abuse, protect accounts, or enforce these terms. You can request account closure by contacting us.

4. Honest listings and legitimate services

You may post personal items, free goods, legitimate local business services, repairs, and lawful events or local activities. Commercial service offerings are welcome when relevant to the community. You must own the goods or have authority to offer them, and have the right to use any photos, descriptions, addresses, and other information you publish.

• Describe condition, defects, price, scope, availability, location, and event timing accurately. Disclose material limitations or additional charges before a transaction.
• Keep listings current. Close unavailable items and update changed event details or service availability promptly.
• For services and activities, obtain any required qualifications, licenses, permissions, insurance, and safety measures. You are responsible for applicable consumer, employment, accessibility, tax, zoning, and other obligations.
• Do not present regulated professional advice or work as something you are qualified to provide unless you have the legally required qualifications.
• Publish an address only when authorized to invite people there. Do not publish another person’s private contact information without permission.

Listing an activity, including a farm visit or pick-your-own offering, does not establish that the premises, products, or activity have been inspected or approved by us.

5. Prohibited content and conduct

Do not use the service for:

• Fraud, theft, counterfeit goods, stolen property, recalled products offered unlawfully, or illegal items or services.
• Weapons, ammunition, explosives, controlled drugs, or offers of sexual services.
• Threats, harassment, hate directed at people based on protected characteristics, exploitation, sexual abuse material, or unlawful discrimination.
• Spam, misleading promotions, fake visitor accounts, fabricated experiences, undisclosed paid endorsements, coordinated manipulation, or repeated unwanted contact.
• Posting private information, infringing intellectual property, distributing malware, probing accounts without permission, or interfering with the site.
• Harvesting contact details, mass unsolicited outreach, bypassing access controls or rate limits, or automated collection that burdens the service or violates privacy. Ordinary search-engine indexing of public pages is permitted subject to our published crawler rules.

We may remove content or restrict conduct that creates a material safety, privacy, legal, or operational risk, even when it is not specifically listed above.

6. Questions, notes, and moderation

Discussions are for relevant questions, helpful first-hand notes, and host updates. Be truthful and distinguish personal opinion from fact. Do not claim an experience you did not have. Disclose a material relationship to a listing when relevant. Discussion posts must not contain links, spam, or private contact details.

First-time contributions may require review. Hosts can reply and publish or pin their own updates. Hosts cannot remove someone else’s contribution merely because they disagree with it; moderators handle removal decisions. Approval does not certify accuracy, attendance, a purchase, or service quality. Notes are not verified reviews or ratings.

We may use automated checks and human review, limit posting, withhold or remove content, and suspend or terminate access for violations. We do not promise to review every contribution or prevent every harmful interaction. Reports do not automatically cause removal. To report a contribution, use its report control; to report a listing or appeal a decision, email us with the page link and relevant details. Do not submit false reports or retaliate against someone for reporting a concern.

7. Transactions, services, and visits

All transaction details are agreed directly between users, including price, payment, pickup, delivery, scope of work, cancellations, returns, refunds, warranties, and disputes. Any rights provided by applicable consumer law still apply. Sellers and providers are responsible for taxes and any required records or disclosures.

Use your own judgment before paying, meeting, entering property, accepting work, or using an item. Check goods, credentials, and relevant safety information. A map location, photograph, or listing may be inaccurate or outdated. Arrange access with the host and respect property boundaries. We do not provide purchase protection, insurance, refunds for user-to-user transactions, or guarantees of fulfillment.

If there is an emergency or immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency services. Reporting through this site is not an emergency response channel.

8. Your content and our permission to use it

You retain ownership of content you submit. You give us a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, resize or format, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate and provide the service, including public listing pages, map previews, sharing previews, and moderation. We may allow our service providers to process content for those purposes. This license does not transfer ownership to us.

The license lasts while the content is on the service and for the limited time needed to maintain backups, security or moderation records, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes. Public content can be copied or indexed by others; we cannot recall their copies. You are responsible for obtaining the rights and permissions needed for the content you submit.

Our branding, design, software, and other original site materials remain ours or our licensors’. You may use the site as intended, but these terms do not grant ownership of those materials or permission to impersonate us.

9. Fees and future features

Posting listings and browsing the public site are currently free. If we introduce paid features, we will disclose the price, billing terms, and any cancellation terms before you purchase. Using today’s free features does not by itself authorize a charge or enroll you in a paid subscription.

10. Problems, infringement, and disputes

Contact feedback@yardsalemap.com about site issues, suspected infringement, moderation appeals, or a dispute with us. Include the relevant page URL, a description of the issue, and a way to contact you. For an intellectual-property complaint, identify the material and the rights you believe it infringes, and explain your authority to raise the complaint. We may request additional information.

Disputes about a purchase, service, or visit should first be raised with the other participant. We may investigate misuse of the platform but are not obligated to resolve the underlying transaction or act as an arbitrator. Nothing in these terms prevents you from contacting authorities or exercising legal rights.

11. Availability and limitations

To the extent permitted by law, we provide the service “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, the accuracy of user content, or a particular result from using the service.

To the extent permitted by law, Tenmile Technologies is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or lost profits or opportunities, arising from use of or inability to use the service. We are not responsible for users’ independent conduct, goods, services, or premises except where applicable law makes us responsible.

These limitations do not exclude or limit liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including mandatory consumer rights. They do not remove remedies that applicable law requires us to provide.

12. Suspension, closure, and changes

We may restrict or end access for violations, repeated abuse, security concerns, or legal requirements, and may change or discontinue features. Where practical and appropriate, we will explain a restriction and provide a way to contact us; urgent safety or legal circumstances may require action without advance notice.

You may stop using the service at any time and request account closure. Provisions that reasonably need to continue, including those about retained content, disputes, and liability, survive closure to the extent permitted by law.

We may revise these terms. We will update the effective date and provide appropriate notice of material changes through the site or email. Changes apply prospectively, subject to any consent required by law. If you do not accept revised terms, stop using the service.

13. General terms and contact

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms do not create a partnership, employment relationship, or agency relationship between us and a user.
